I'd let her apply oil onto my gasket!! lol just joking dude.

But yeah looks like a good little trick... think you could extend it with the use of a hose maybe? So that oil drainage comes from a simple thing out the front of the bumper or wheel arch liner? so regardless of how low the car is oil changed can be a 2 minute job...??

 

Actually, there is a valve with a nipple at the end. You should be able to attach a hose to it and drain it through the hose into a container.
I believe the ones with the nipple are $4 more.

I should have some of those in stock soon.

 

How sturdy is that valve? I would love this mod but concerned about it failing or being flimsy. Is there close up pictures of the actual valve? On your site when I click on the image it doesn't enlarge.

 

The standard drain pan is 6in and too big . I have a 4in pan I use to drain and then transfer to the stoppered pan. If you can find a 4in stoppered pan , this would be the deal to get. Or you could drive the car up on 2in blocks.
The tubing idea would also work but I consider it unnecessary since your going to have to use a drain pan anyway. With the Fumoto, everything including the filter change can be done from under the hood.

 

The valve is solid brass.

I've been using mine for 3 years, and others have had it on their cars as many as 6 years.

I'm going to go and measure my oil drain pan now.

Here is a pic of an actual drain valve with the adapter attached:

 

Something happened here that we don't know about. If the pan wasen't broken or the threads weren't stripped, I suspect either a very loose Fumoto or a Fumoto that was designed for use with another car. When tightened to spec, the Fumoto has the same integrety as the stock drain bolt.

Thats the same pan I use for the initial drain. I then transfer the drained oil into a stoppered pan that has a spout. I then insert the spout into the original oil jugs and return the used oil to Advance, Autozone etc.
The ideal drain pan would be the same height as your pan but would be stoppered and have a spout. Not a big deal really but , this would allow me to get rid of the smaller drain pan.

 

Ahhh, okay, gotcha. I just put a funnel on the original oil container and pour from that drain pan into the funnel. Then I make sure to clean the funnel of the dirty oil.
