We have to run front plates in MT as well. I used the stock location, but drilled two holes in the middle (in terms of top-to-bottom) of the plate to mount it up higher. It doesn't look great, but it also doesn't obstruct any airflow to the radiator.

I have the manual altec but mounted to the bottom of the bumper and it kinda scrapes often so I'll prob be looking at mounting the motorized one inside the grill like in the video...another summer project to add to teh list
