DIY License Plate Relocate

DIY License Plate Relocate
So I had my front plate off for the longest time and love the look when it is off. But living in a state that seems to think it is necessary to have a front plate on at all times, I was pulled over and fined for not having it on. I wasn't going to simply attach it to the grill because of fear of overheating (even if it is not true, is it something to risk? I didnt think so)
So using my factory plate holder here is how I made it work.
First take the plate holder off the car and remove the clip that holds the two pieces together.
Install the holder like this.
Next hold the plate holder into position and mark the new hole.
Drill an appropriate size hole for the new hardware.
Next using your hardware (make sure there is a lock washer or lock nut) and put it on and see what it looks like. I had to bend the bracket down a little bit in order to make it have some pressure against the bottom of the bumper.
Add some weather stripping after you clean the surface with some rubbing alcohol.
Install and enjoy.

I used the same plate bracket modified it to center then bolted up my license plate. I also used 2 zip ties on the bottom of my license plate and the weather stripped anywhere that was against the grill. Lucky we can use slimline plates..
