diff upgrade

Default diff upgrade

hey got a ap1 and is planning to buy a ap2 diff. any other parts i need to swap it out? does it bolt right on? would it make a differents? any suggestions?

I failed to find the proof that the AP2 diffs are stronger than the AP1s.

if i had my old one i would show everyone. the ap2 diff is actually a little bit larger and to me has been great thus far.

to the opp, yes it bolts right in

The carrier end caps are different...that's the only structural difference between the two. A small amount of metal was added, but it does seem to make the ap2 diff stronger. You still won't be able to beat the diff with constant clutch drops, but it should hold up a better than the ap1 diff.

ap2 diff's will break too!!!!! they reinforced the bearing caps but thats about it....

Go with the Puddymod rear diff if you got the money ( Hardtopguy), I've heard tons of good things and the guy that makes them knows his stuff.
