Going from cat to resonated test pipe the exhaust gets a good bit louder. Has a nicer throaty sound added but definitely get's a good bit louder.
I have the Megan Racing resonated test pipe.

A test pipe in general reduces drone from an exhaust. Even with my HKS and a test pipe I still get drone though. I have gotten used to it.
My last exhaust which was a Spugen I had really bad drone and was hard to handle.

I am not sure what exactly is in this case but it could be one of the following
1)fiber material burnt/blew away: typical result of low end "glass pack" resonator
2)chambered design: direct air flow to muffler the noise, lots of OE applicator and older muscle car resonator are build this way, not very likely to be in this case
3) straight thru design: nothing "in" the path of the gas flow but there's an exposed chamber with perforated screen on the sidewall.

i was thinking of filling the "space"between the perforated inner tubee and the outer casing with sound dampening material..
should this help??
