Cutting off the intake resonator
So, i've done my fair share of searching and have come up empty. I have done the airbox mod and have seen some pictures where people have completly cut off the resonator box on the right side of the stock intake. What I want to know is how they get the airbox to stay in place. How do you get if stable if you do this. The reason I ask is because there is a holding tab on that far side of the box.
Thanks for any info...

If you do it for looks then you'll want to cut. If you just want to lose the resonance it creates then you can just put black tape over the entrance into the resonator.

FYI that resonator may also be there to smooth out airflow...not sure since I don't have the ability to perform any crazy analyses of that box.
Might make it a tad louder...but it could also sound like ass. Those resonators are "tuned" to hide or mask certain frequencies, much like an exhaust resonator removes drone.
