Clutch Job/Transmission Removal
Hi,
It's been about 40 years since I replaced a clutch, so my son, who's done them on Acura RSX's, toyota's and Mazda's, is helping me. (Or maybe I'm helping him). We've removed everything as directed in the manufacturer's manual, including 8 transmission bolts, but we still can't separate the transmission from the engine. Any hints/help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
fredh5062

You disassembled the shifter from up top inside the cabin right?
There are pry points on the engine/transmission mounting areas use pry bar to just give it a little nudge
I usually lower the engine a tad by disconnecting the engine mounts and using an engine stand from underneath.

The top starter bolt?
You have to remove this from under the hood. Long extension under the intake manifold. Easiest to remove alternator, and go in via space vacated.
