^^^see, thats true. like on other threads where they say they can chirp their tires and what not. i really dont feel that much of a delay. but i was just thinking if i should keep it or not? i already order the clutch and the 8 pound flywheel, so i cant take that back. and i much rather install a clutch than a diff. the difference would be i can still drive on a bad clutch. so i guess i should keep it in.

BTW, just curious, how many ap2 took out the CDV and broke the diff? b/c i dont hear alot of ap2 breaking it.

People really have no idea about the CDV imo - if you have a new clutch setup on the way, install it and try it out. If you're still not happy, pull the CDV and see if that changes anything. It costs you nothing to wait to pull the CDV and you'll see you don't need to once you have a better pp in the car.

Fwiw, OEM clutch disc and 8 lb flywheel - if you're replacing those parts, I'd add an ACT pp to the list when you have it apart.

Fwiw, the AP2 diff got slightly reinforced over AP1, although the difference is minimal.

I question everyone who claims the CDV needs to be removed as its never been established to hurt any part of the car's performance.
You sir need to learn how to shift faster.

ok, i am getting the act HDSS and 8 pound flywheel. i do shift pretty quick, i think. also i notice the CDV when i first got it for about 15K miles, but now i am at 40K miles. i have VSA and when i shift hard to second my vsa kicks in and starts to pause the fuel and i know the its the vsa because i tried to do the same in rain and it does the same thing. and if i try really hard shift to third i can chirp the tires. oh, and this is on hankook r-s2.

8lb flywheel is really light. It'll take a lot of getting used to. Most AP2 owners really like the AP1 flywheel, which is several lb lighter. I have a 9.2lb on an AP1, and it's almost too light for me.

Remove the CDV, I just removed mine yesterday and wish I had done it when I first purchased the vehicle. The clutch engagement now grabs and "feels right". The snap ring is a real PITA! After about 10mins, I drilled the tiniest hole behind the ring and was able to push it out. Do it you won't regret it!
