Caliper Painting Process
I know this is pretty straight forward, but are there any tips or precautions to take when I paint my calipers this weekend? What should I use to clean them first and then dry them off?
Any suggestions on what product to use?
thanks.

Best results in you grind down the calipers with a dremel tool. As with most painting projects, its all about the prep work.

my prep work was spraying down the calipers with brake cleaner. i used a file to get the rear caliper surface smoother and i think 120 grit to smooth down the front calipers for the s2000 stickers. that is all. i then used a whole can of black caliper paint (same cost as engine enamel) and they came out beautiful.

also, no point in smoothing out the entire caliper 'cause all you can see through the spokes is where the stickers mount.
the supplier i had for the stickers was http://www.motogfx.com/honda/
and they were shipped fast, got 'em within a week. and the fit contoured perfect to the shape of the calipers. i very highly recommend this supplier.

Best results are from powdercoating, but who's going to mess with that?

My suggestion is get a can of brake cleaner and some form of compressed air or equivalent. Clean the hell out of them even if they look clean already. Also use the supplied cleaners in your kit if you get the Duplicolor brand.
When painting use all of your paint. But wait till the last coat is dry before applying more. Repeat till you have no more paint.
Prep is the key, also patience helps too.
