The A/C system runs on a clutch-type system so as long as it isn't turned on, the parasitic drag is not that significant compared to running without the belt hooked up to it.

you dont "gain" anything from removing the air conditioning. you just lose weight. it doesnt cost you any extra hp if you're running around with your a/c off. its mainly removed for weight savings.

thats what i wanted to know..
i dont wanna remove the a/c compressor out of the car.. just run a different belt so it wont have to spin the extra pulley.. even if the a/c is off . it still has to spin a pulley
