ok i did my research on this topic ...so dont flame me...... already.. read for hours... on this forum...
have only done auto x so far... track days are comming next summer...
i have oem pads still... all the pads are heat cracks in them... got into an accident bc the brakes failed... couldnt stop.. abs never kicked in... from about 100 mph to 50... was what i was trying to accomplish... pads were to hot.. and just didnt stop the car...

so im looking for a better inital bite.. and a pad that handles more heat.. i drive agressive... alota of over 100 driving...

ive read carbotech is pretty good.. their panther plus pad...but others recommend other pads...

the car is my dd..
but i need pads pad...front and rear.. im doing front rotors too... their warped
so i was thinking using oem pads in rear like bendix or something bc i get them at cost..

as for rotors i was thinking power slot cryo

just need pad advice

i would like to know as well. i havent yet done any auto x as i bought mine too late in the year, but i think this summer im gonna give it a shot and new pads would probably be a good idea

 

I use the carbotech AX6 Im not sure what cat name they coincide with. Work better than stock for initial bite. But squeal for around town driving. I swap pads when I go to the track because I cant stand the noise. I've since changed compounds to the XP8 and they are more of a track only pad.

For rotors you don't want slots or holers. Just plain rotors. The OEMs are fine, but you can get the Centric rotor for cheaper and they work just as well. This is what the hard core track people use.

For pads, it's all about cost and noise. If you absolutely hate squealing then it really limits your choices quite a bit. A decent pad that makes little noise is the Hawk HPS. It's isn't completely noiseless, but it doesn't squeal like a pig either. Now this pad definitely has it's limitations at the track but it's much better than stock.

If you don't mind some squealing the AX6 mentioned above is a pretty good track pad. It is the new name for the Panther series pad, although the compound is different then the old panther. This is about the most agressive pad you can daily drive. Anything more will be extremely loud and will not stop that well until warmed up.

 

Just get centric blank rotors, consider some Axxis Ultimate pads, and some good fluid with a proper bleed. And some better tires always helps.

 

<- Axxis Pads, Slotted Rotors (can't remember the brand it was with the package from the S2ki Marketplace...I think.), ATE Super Blue, and SS Lines.

I have been about to do research regarding brakes for some time now so this thread is good for me to take a couple notes from. Mine are feeling soggy and I think I'll just go overboard with rotors, pads, lines, and some nice sexy brake fluid.
