Black Hole Patch Review and Instructions
I was trying to find ways to protect my newly installed Robbins canvas top, and I stumbled upon the Black Hole Patch on the forum and I decided to give it a try. The kit arrived on time, and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of patch materials I received. The kit contained four 3" round patches and two 5x7" rectangular patches. At $11.95 shipped, it is a no-brainer.
I do not currently have a tear on my soft top. I am installing this patch to protect the two corners where they rub against the metal ribs. Here are some pictures of how I installed it.
It has been three weeks since I installed the patches and there are no signs of peeling or damage. Looks like a win to me.

I was just planning to post up a review on those too! I purchased them in October and just patch my top like 2 weeks ago. So far so good! I retracted my top 2-3 times already and they don't peel off. I used the two round one in the same spot as you did. Honestly I wouldn't bother buying soft top material and try to patch. These are the way to go!
By the way, it says to trim the rectangle corners to be round so they don't stick up.

My issue is that I haven't found an adhesive strong enough to really stand the test of time with this car. Some are better than others, but all of them that I have tried come loose eventually.
