Thumbs up Better sound from the stock exhaust.

Ive read with most Hondas adding exhaust can actually make you lose power, ive also read that Honda made the s2000s exhaust pretty damn good. Correct me if im wrong.

Anyways I remember reading through a thread a couple of days ago (couldn't find it again) saying that there was a silencer of some sort in the exhaust somewhere that could be removed. Does anyone have any more information on this, or even a writeup how to remove it, if its true? Thanks

I would like to know too, I want to make the stock exhaust a bit louder. It sounds sweet at certain RPM's but I would want something across the whole RPM band.

You can remove the helmholtz resonator for a little more noise IIRC.

or i think adding a testpipe will improve the sound, but at the expense of smelling fuel

I think dynos prove HP gains in most Hondas. Factory intake and exhaust in most cars are tuned to be quiet. That being said... Honda did a fantastic job with the S2000, when they made the intake and exhaust both quiet and high-performing. Even so, there is usually a little bit of power still to be made by opening both up a bit more, at the expese of more noise.

Testpipe will make a stock exhaust sound raspy/tinny. It's true that you'll smell more unburnt fuel though.

Just cut it out and weld in a section of pipe.

Before cutting the resonator off, add a TP. The idea of a cut and patched exhaust system doesn't sound that appealing to me.

You have to hack up the exhaust to remove the resonator?
