Default Best Intake Setup Under 1K?

Hey,

So I am looking into getting a new intake setup but am not sure which setup to go with. There are so many to choose from. I can go with a snorkel, CAI, or a Short Ram Intake (Did I miss anything? And ITBs are out of the question. ) I'm looking to mainly increase throttle response with decent HP and Torque gains and have a budget up to 1K. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks.

no matter what intake system you will only get minimal gains. just spend the least amount of money you can on a reputable name brand.

as stated, they all give you minimal gains.... you could modify the OEM airbox, get a drop in k&n filter or something like that, and get a snorkel or even better an AUT cooling plate, and that would run you about 200-250 bucks for an efficient set up.

K&N FIPK. It's like $200-something shipped off ebay.

I wouldn't spend anywhere remotely close to a grand on an intake. It's a tube with a filter on the end, I don't see the value in turning it into rocket science or a JDM bling contest. It's just the first step, there are plenty of components behind that (throttle, manifold, head/intake ports, valves, camshafts) that are a whole lot more influential on what the engine does.

S2K 4 ME-

I was checking out the Fujita F5 a little while ago and it looks pretty good. The price is just right too. I will put it into considerartion, thanks.

D Loke-

Took a look at the AUT cooling plate. Quality looks good and concept seems logical with a decent price. I will also put this option into consideration, thanks.

GinoGT-

I have heard many great things about the K&N FIPK and was sold on it until I heard that the sound can overpower the sound of an HKS Hi-Power exhaust. I was kind of turned off at that point. Thanks for the input though.

Any other suggestions?

I have the HKS catback too, not overpowering at all, they match up nicely

Especially with a test pipe.
