Default AutoBerry Convertible Tops

Robbins Auto Tops are highly recommend on the forum. A few have used TopsOnline.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with AutoBerry? They have soft tops in Vinyl, Stayfast and German. At this time they have Vinyl replacement tops on sale for the S2000 regular price $480 with $50 off. The Stayfast is $580.

Thanks for the input!

I'd stick to Robbins.....Never heard of this place before. Not worth trying to save a couple hundred bucks if the top doesn't fit right or is of inferior build quality to the Robbins.

Topsonline is a vendor, not a manufacturer. I suspect AutoBerry is as well.

Again for Robbins - fit great and much better quality than stock. They even already have patches on the interior at the normal wear points. Looking at my S2000's top side by side with one that has a factory top - the vinyl looks like junk.

Default Questions

Assuming most of you go for the Canvas/Stayfast top, is it necessary to order the additional springs set?

Is there a contact at Robbins for S2Ki members?

I noticed TopsOnline carries Robbins. Any pros and cons going with them over Robbins?

Thank you all!

PS: FWIW, I did send an inquiry to AutoBerry asking who was the manufacturer and how it compares to the Robbins top. Here is there reply. Nice to see they were forthright and complimented the competition:

Thank you for your interest. It's our private label brand made by top manufacturer's in the U.S. We can not advertise the brand because we have it at a low price. All of our tops have a 3 year warranty that covers the tops from defects in quality and workmanship.

This is not a Robbins top it's an aftermarket top AutoBerry Brand. Robbins is a better top of course but more expensive, we do not offer Robbins.

Where would the "additional spring set" go? Are these for the very early cars? There is a coil spring and cable in tension on both sides of the roof frames at least on 2002-08, the only roof frames I've inspected. They're not visible unless the roof is partly retracted -- or the material removed as when replacing the roof.

Thanks Chuck! Sorry, I saw a cable set on TopsOnline and after double checking it there was a statement that you can reuse existing top cables if they are in good shape.

The only other option I could find was an installation video. If anyone has seen or used this, appropriate comments. Will probably do the install myself, I know it is a little difficult and tedious.

It's good to know replacement cables are available. Good luck on a self install. I did my MGB but that was dirt simple.
