just had my clutch replaced...I ordered the parts myself and yes all the parts are the same except for the flywheel...I had been hearing so many good things about the AP1 flywheel that I had to give it a go...it does makes a difference and it is a nice change...of course I plan on getting the AP1 slave cylinder to complete the improvement

Light flywheels if you are going FI is bad, lot of ppl say using a stock weighted flywheel is best or just a little lighter than stock.

^ wait people with superchargers that i know like the lighter flywheel to rev faster and easier. but then people with turbos say heavier is better for help building boost. not sure but that is what i hear and i know, i know take everything you hear with a grain of salt.

^I know for sure the heavier is a little better on a turbo car as it puts the engine under a little more load to help spool the turbo sooner. I'm honestly not sure just how much of a difference it really makes though.

Someone posted the torque curve a while ago. Heavier FW makes more torque at certain points. It also engages easier because the rpms don't fall off so fast.

^^ That is very true...As it is already a pain to stay in vtec in the 1-2 shift with the ap2 tranny(thanks to the shorter gearing and lower redline). Heavier flywheels will make it so the rpms don't drop as fast as they would with a lighter flywheel.

My previous car had a 9lb flywheel and made it rev freely much quicker but the rpms also dropped off quicker as well...Didn't really care though because the car had more tq than hp and the rpm's would drop right into the sweet spot of the tq band.

if when you shift from 1-2 you fall out of vtec your simply not shifting fast enough i dont care how light the flywheel is...
