I have K&N and I like mine but CT Engineering intakes have proven to drop temperatures even more thus making for less heat soak etc. I would try and pick up a used one before getting the K&N. Just my 02, You will save yourself some money though either way if you do go K&N which is a plus.

K&N FIPK for less than $250 and some gold foil and you have yourself a cool sounding intake with some added cooling properties. Although I don't believe anything will help you reduce heat soak in triple digit weather. I live that experience every summer in AZ.
