As far as I know, there haven't been ANY reported failures from other brand spacers (of the 1 piece variety).

So its either incorrect install

Crap bolts

Crap design or a combination of all three that is leading to spacers flying off.

He reused them AFTER they came loose the first time.

As some people have alluded to the cause of them loosening is lack of thread lock and/or OVER-torquing.

There have been suggestions that due to their design (half) they are prone to more vibration and inertial forces working them loose.

Its a shame because they're major plus is they are much much easier to install and require less tools

I never used thread lock the first time installing them so I'm sure that has to be the main reason, and the vibrations thing definitely makes sense.

i think the race ones are forged where the other ones are cnc something.

does anyone remember the diameter of the stock bolts in comparison to the kit supplied hex bolts?

Even so, there shouldn't be this problem.

AFAIK, there have been no reported incidents of "other" brands of 1-Piece spacers falling off which leads me to believe that this is more so a design flaw rather than an installation flaw.

Further, if it was the latter, you would think customers would be warned...

I had these and had one half fall off as well. Luckly, it was in my girlfriends driveway, so I was able to find the half. Plus a few of the bolts. I used to have pics on my phone, but that phone died.

Anyways, I worked at fastenal so I upgraded my bolts right away. I would suggest getting stronger bolts. The supplied bolts really are very very low quality(to keep cost down Im sure).

The supplied bolts had either broke, or pretty much bent in half after becoming loose and vibrating out.

my kit came with something similar in style to these. i think they were 8.8. this could definately be a weak point because I fail to see how a metal cnc part could move if the bolts are installed and spec'd properly.
