Thanks for the pics, sir. Yes, I checked it out.

I almost feel like if I did the black HT, I would have to tint the windows somewhat dark on the HT and window glass to make the whole top black. Muy wife said she liked the black better.

I really like silver tho. I am super concerned about matching the paint is all. I am going to contact the best bodyshop here in town and see what they have to say.

I spoke to Jeff - Hardtopguy yesterday. He said his buddy has a silverstone HT and silverstone hood on his sebring and the car looks really good and 2 tone. I guess I can try this and see what it looks like. He said he ran the black top as well.

I am almost tempted to try doing the carbon fiber 3M Ni-OC top. They say it only lasts 4 years, but I think it may come out really well. Plus, when I sell the car, I peel it off and sell it to a silverstone owner. There are 3 or 4 local to me.

What do you think of the carbon overlay idea?

Its very popular with the E46 BMW crowd...Look like this

I even found a s2k where he did the hood and trunk in it...

yeah I have my windows all tinted black.

I like the carbon overlay look, I think it is a good way to go, though it can scratch , but it is always reversible and replaceable.

I'm not too sure about that two-tone silverstone idea.

If you find a good painter that can match the flake that would be good too, my guy just used too large of a flake, the colour is actually spot on, but the flake gives it a different look. From 2 feet away it isn't noticeable, you have to get up real close and compare it to the windshield frame to see the difference. If you get it painted give your painter the factory code that is in the VIN number of the vehicle, I think it is the eleventh digit of the VIN number, my factory code was T for Tochigi, the other may be S for Suzuka, paint codes change with the factory.

Well, bad news. Contacted vendor/installer with those pics above about 3M and guess what - the material they carry is not wide enough for hardtops, 3M does not even make it that wide. So, back to two choices again - black or sebring...

I know a guy in my region that has covered his oem hardtop, and I know my Honda dealer covered at cr-z front hood (which are fairly wide). I don't know what product they used but it looked the same, carbon like material. It didn't look like they used seams either but I can't say for sure.

Hmm - If you can put me in touch with him or have any other info, that would be great. I am curious what he used to cover it with. Thanks!

Here is the link to his post a few months ago, I was going to use the guy that he used possibly to do a custom liner on the inside of my oem hardtop but his guy never got back to me. He's got some nice pics in his post, maybe consider pm'ing him on the material and install details.

I installed (what I thought and definatly ordered) a Sebring HT about four years ago. The top was immediatly noted to be slightly darker than the car but I chalked it up as a new part installed onto a slightly faded Sebring. I think the top looks good and really just forgot about it.
I have question- Is their a color code# stamped somewhere on the top? Maybe I have a Silverstone?

I don't know of any code on the HT, you might have a Chicane Silver or Silverstone , both are slightly darker.

If you bought the top new from a dealer, it will have a Japanese sticker with the paint code taped to it. The color code is NOT stamped on the hardtop anywhere though.
