Default Anyone fit a Fuel pump container

On lower fuel levels in my supercharged s2k under very hard acceleration the fuel goes to the back of the tank and leaves the fuel pickup without fuel coverage.

Has anyone fitted anything to prevent this? I was thinking of some kind of plastic vessel to go around the fuel pickup (a vitalite tub should be good!) with some small holes in to keep the fuel pickup supplied with fuel until the level evens out

I don't want to go to the effort of baffling the fuel tank and thought this would be a simple cheap solution

Freebies:
Only drive downhill
keep your gas tank topped off over 1/2 tank
send me your supercharger

Not familiar with vitalite, some kind of polymer? The idea certainly has merit. Just watch you don't starve the pump. You're reducing your NPSH by adding the resistance of the drilled tub near the pump inlet.

The only true solution would be to get a baffle welded into the tank. Much like you would an oil pan.

Would it not be simpler to fab up an external surge tank instead? Full blown actually sells a bolt in kit with the lines and all included.

my ap1 does that same thing from time to time when I'm low on fuel. I've been told that reusing the oem sock on the fuel pump should fix the problem, but the fuel pump is such a PITA to get out that I haven't gotten around to it.

Generally do keep more than 1/4 tank but can be a pain, especially if I can mock something up for virtually free.

Vitalite is a hard plastic margarine tub (1 litre) in the UK! I've used them for years for storing small amounts of petrol for cleaning purposes!

Agree baffle or surge tank / swirl pot etc would be best but the issue isn't that bad that I need to spend money on it.

The stock OEM filter/sock does sit about 1cm lower than the replacement one I have on the pump and I am replacing it with a new OEM one ... so whilst it the pump was out I was going to try to mock something up to help
