I have been reading that some people remove their CDV. Some say go for it and others dont... Is the clutch wear that much more noticable?? I have an 07 and was considering, but after reading all these posts, i am even more confused!!!
I dont really track the car, but like to do some highway runs. And quick shifting is important.
Please give your opinions... dont know what to do!!

All 04+ models have the CDV (clutch delay valve) added to the clutch slave cylinder. When shifting at redline the clutch slowly engages as opposed to fully engaging the next gear. Kills performance and wears your clutch, but again, takes the strain off your differential and drivetrain. No sports car should have a CDV in my opinion. There are 2 ways to fix this problem with links on how to do it (very simple to do):
Replace your '04+ slave cylinder with an '03 or earlier model:

Remove the CDV from your '04+ slave cylinder:

The only hard part is having to bleed and replace your clutch fluid, but it is worth buying the equipment to do that and comes out cheaper than any shop would charge in the end. I think the price of the '03 slave cylinder is between $60-$70 from your average dealership. You may be able to find it cheaper off the internet. The above links have all the technical pictures and information about the install, please refer to them.

I took mine out at 18,000 miles and it made a dramatic difference in clutch feel and engagement. However, I do still get some clutch slippage on very hard/fast redline shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 because my clutch is glazed over from the CDV, but I have pretty much learned how to shift around it...

I dunno, with a turbo I would rather be a tad slower through shifts, and wear my clutch, then have a 10th of a second quicker shift and BLOW MY REAR DIFFERNTIAL
the SHOCK is the killer.....if you eliminate the shock, your diff's chances of survival is close to as if you didnt have a turbo. its been proven.

I bought the 03 slave cylinder which does not have the CDV in it. I got it from Hardtop guy. it was 66 bucks shipped. The install requires minimal mechanical knowledge. as for bleeding the clutch, I just pored some fluid in the new slave cyl and then gravity bled it. Super easy.
Also the clutch wear was totally noticeable before. I do track my car and on quick shifts from 2nd to 3rd I would have to let off to avoid my clutch from burning up.
