Mine air pump has reached the end of it's life time, but buying a new one in SA cost an arm and a leg, not worth it IMO. So I just decided to remove it and spend the cash of replacing the pump on other useful mods.
What I have done in the mean time is to disconnect the air inlet and outlet hoses from the pump, so that system is sealed and also I used a hammer and silenced the pump once and for all. So now the pump is broken, but when still plugged in the CEL light stays off.
I will look into the EMS option, what gains can one expect from EMS on a NA setup?

How'd you get the CEL to go away?
Anybody know where I can buy a delete kit?
I'll post some pics later tonight...

It seems as long as the pump is connected the the CEL light stays off, and also you can't disconnect the little soliniod next to the air box, that must stay connected, but you can remove the air pipe that leads to the value to direct the air into the exhaust.

[QUOTE=GT Motoring,Sep 9 2010, 07:29 AM] what spec is your car? the US model ECU is unique to the US. If you have a euro or Japanese spec car, we have a solution for you.

I'm from South Africa, so it won't be an US, don't think is a Japaneses, probably an euro then, how can I check to make sure?
It's a 2005 Model, AP1 with the 2.0l VTech engine in, in SA we have the AP1 engine, but the rest of the car is AP2, strange I know...
My VIN is it would help JHMAP11305S200876
