Question Air box compatibility

When I bought my 2004 it came with a K&N air intake. I’m trying to restore to stock. I bought the 2000-2005 air cleaner case set (17205-PCX-000) on Amayama, but discovered it did not come with the cover (17210-PCX-000). So I attempted to order that too, but they canceled my order and declared it completely out of production

I’m looking for a used cover separately, but in the mean time I’m stuck with half a new OEM air box (pretty useless). However, I see that Amayama still has the newer 2006-2009 cover in stock (17210-PZX-000). Anyone know if this is compatible with the older air box case? From my understanding the newer case has the air pump port that the older case does not have.

Side question: if the cover is not swappable between the two cases, can I just run the newer case set (17205-PZX-000) + cover on my 2004 and plug up the air pump port (or some light mod like that)?

Izze makes a kit to delete the air pump system completely. Costs $100 including the block off plate.

2000-2005 Honda S2000 Air Pump Simulator

So you can do that to remove the air pump. Also saves a bit of weight doing so.

I am not sure if the ap2 cover fits the same. If you are looking used you can look here on the forums, but also, A Solutions Auto Parts is an excellent source of used parts for our cars. I have bought a few things from them, including a transmission. They focus on specific types of cars like the s2000 and tend to have a lot in stock.

You could try Majestic in the US for a new one. Sometimes I do find stuff that Amayama does not have that they do, but it is rare. Generally Amayama has the stuff that the US dealerships dont.

I will look into the air pump delete kit. Seems like I don't quite have permissions to create WTB threads yet, but I'll get there some day! (with enough other posts I hope...)
I did check around at Majestic and A Solutions, but didn't find any available air boxes. Thanks for the advice!

You should be able to use the WTB section - https://www.s2ki.com/forums/want-buy-132/

The new marketplace requires membership but the old WTB section is still active.

I was looking at this listing earlier in the week and was hoping for a little better condition (at least for $100 anyway). Stinks that the new parts I have will be on the bottom and I would get to look at a beat up, cracked cover haha. I'll hold out for something a little better.

This is the message I get when I click New Thread at that location. I had just assumed I needed like >10 posts or something like that.
wminner, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Odd. I thought it was still open. I have asked the question to the powers above to clarify.

I just compared my wife's 06 cover and my 01 cover and the only difference is the size of the TR logo embossed on the cover. You may be able to zoom in and see:

I installed the 06 cover on my 01 just to be sure. Fits like a glove:
