Default AEM Dryflow installed on FIPK

Just wanted to share this pic, the filter is massive! After researching the heck out of replacing the K&N oiled filter with a dryflow I found that the member here that did it first complained about top end loss with a smaller filter than the 3"x9" that he wound up using.

This is the Dryflow 3"x9" filter from AEM. The horn was temporarily relocated to the back of the FIPK heat shield support bolt. Unfortunately it only has to be temporary as it blocks the opening that I use to get to the oil filter. Next warm day I'll splice an extension wire (There is only 1, the ground is the bracket), and move it elsewhere.

It's definitely quieter than the K&N filter, noticeable, but not terrible, still screams at vtec. Blipping the throttle is less "throaty".

As far as power, I'd love to sit here and say I felt an improvement, I'd love to say it felt smoother, but everyone would jump on me insisting there is no way I could have felt anything simply by changing the filter, so I won't

I've read a lot about the oiled K&N filters and while I don't have to worry about a MAF getting fouled with an 05, I like that the AEM dryflow does filter better and maintenance is a breeze.

You know with a filter that big you will be able to go a long time before you have to clean it. I use this to show me how clean or dirty my filter is
http://www.filterminder.com/gafi_threaded.asp
I let it get to 15" and clean my filter, takes the guesswork out of it. It's so easy to mount, it takes all of 10 minutes.

No.

And correct me if I'm wrong but the V2 is a CAI yes? Too low for me, I like water to stay out of my engine if I accidentally forge a river thx

$50 bucks shipped for never having to worry about oil, and a better filtration media.

And it took 10 minutes, hardly a waste of time.

I still have doubts of filtering efficiency of a nonoiled "reusable" filter.. Whatever the case, I'm sure everyone will agree the filter (KN or AEM) is NOT the weak point of our engine, something else will probably blow/break before wear and tear due to "dust particles".
