Default 70mm T1R Dual with Berk HFC 70mm good idea?

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has the berk hfc 70mm with the t1r 70R-EM dual exhaust. I really want to know if the Berk HFC will lower the drone of the T1r exhaust and make it sound meaner? Anyone with this setup or any possible youtube clips would be very helpful. I'm thinking about purchasing a berk hfc even tho I live in cali and it's illegal. I want to know if it's worth it for the illegal cat mod. thank you!!

I have the setup, it does reduce the drone from the exhaust.

Never knew Berk made a 70mm HFC? Thought Asura was one of the only companies that made a 70mm HFC? I'd like to compare the two on a dyno or inspect the internals. Any other companies that make a 70mm HFC for the S?

while the HFC is "technically" illegal in ca cuz you can't replace the cat before a certain amount of mileage or signed proof it went bad....you won't have any problems with it from cops or smog.

i've been through 2 smogs and a couple cop stops to check for parts...never had a problem with it.

it works w/in 1hp and 1.5 ft/lb tq of the testpipe too ( or about so ) and so funky tp smell. and not terrible for the environment either.

@ HERO Did you get your oem cat signed off for replacement after 80,000 miles? Do you think it's safe for me to do that with 40,000 miles on my car without any paper signed off for cat replacement? I thought those rules only apply to 2000-2004 s2000s? I have a 2005 and the berk site said as on Jan 2009 now using a berk hfc in california is only considered off road only. I just want to ask you if it's really worth it for the trouble getting the Berk HFC. I just need to hear a clip of anyone with t1r 70rem dual with 70mm berk hfc.

if worried, can always weld heatshields onto the HFC to make it look like OEM cat.

i don't want to risk that incase the berk hfc barely passes smog, have to keep the stock hfc to be on the safe side.

i only have 40k miles on my car.

they have to say "off-road only" on the website as a disclaimer though. just like most of other performance parts for the car.

if you want to go by california state law, it is illegal. if you want to go by practical application, it doesn't cause any red flags either during smog check or police visual.
