How did the increase need to shift affect your acceleration? I've always considered the gears on an AP2 to be incredibly short as they are. In this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWffR3R6-Xk for example, the 4.77 run actually looks slower due to the added shifts.

also, are the 4.77s suitable for DDing? people who DD say they love the 4.77s but MotorKlasse's website says it's for all-out track performance.
it's definitely suitable for daily driving.. in fact, probably even more suitable than a track imho.

it's DEFINITELY not slower..... i didn't really notice a need to shift any more.. and as a previous owner of an ap1, my wife currently owns an ap1, i can tell you that it's not any more or less...

I agree with that statement 100%. After being out again on the track with 4.77s, I'd be angry if I had any competitive inclination on the track because you can definitely get stuck hugging the redline wanting to shift, but can't mid-turn because you'll upset the weight and spin.

Once you decide to go with the gears, make sure you have someone that has lots of experience with gear installation do the work. I had Ganley Honda do mine since the mechanic has had years of doing work on s2000s and I couldn't beat the deal.

Im no expert but gears dont add power, just move around the shift points to get into the power quicker.
So wouldnt a stock S2000 and a geared one run the same time in the 1/4 mile or eventually catch up after 80-100mph?

I have the same question... does it actually make the car faster, or just more fun to drive?
