I don't quite get why everyone says 4.77's are soo intense for daily driver.
I get slightly worse MPG's not by much at all. Most of my commute is highway so rpm's are higher.
Around town you can shift less. Can easily cruise in 6th going 40-45 mph.
From a stop it is night and day difference in acceleration.
I would like more gearing actually. Think the AP1 with 4.77 is perfect and how it should have come from the factory. Does not seem aggressive really at all.
Makes the car much more fun to drive though.

To me the 4.44 were a waste of money, i should have saved the cash. Some said to dump these and get the 4.77, thats a horrible idea. the install alone is 400-500 bucks

Im pretty sure for the ap1's its a great choice but for the ap2...blah!

Installing the gears or the diff are you talking about? The diff is a pretty easy swap to do yourself if you have a few tools.
Or just trade diffs with someone who has 4.77's and wants some 4.44's for F.I.
Nothing short of FI will give you loads of torque which seems like it was what you were expecting or hoping for.

gearing multiplies torque but in a car with not much torque to start with it doesnt make the same difference that it would in a 8 cylinder.i love my 4.77's and now that im supercharged first and second gear have such a sweet pull.

Are you sure the gears were changed out?

So the 4.77 and sc combo is real good? Make a big difference getting the supercharger in boost with the gears? I am thinking of getting an SC or turbo in the spring. Was leaning towards SC since I have the gears and it seems like it would make a nice combo, since 4.77 usually keep up with an sc s2k till end of 2nd, but if you have both should be pretty damn quick I would think.

4.77 and s/c is too high, youll go through them so fast it be pointless, i would say 4.3 or 4.44

i have 4.56 in my ap2 so far its really nice, you can feel the power

I have 4.77 in MY00, I want to go with a 4.44 or 4.56. I'm worried I'll be doing too much shifting on the track especially during turns.
