At this point, I would like to ask everyone planning to attend Saturday's meet at Fashion Island (Newport Beach) or Sunday's El Toro autocross (to WATCH) to send me an email (steveuci@aol.com) or PM containing the following:

1) s2000online nickname
2) Your real first name
3) Are you attending the Saturday meet (24th, 10:30am)?
4) Are you attending the El Toro AutoX with us on Sunday (25th)?
5) Your mobile # (optional)

If you think you're going to be late to the Saturday meet (after 10:30am), let me know how late you'll be so we can try to plan for late-comers. I'd tentatively say we'll hang around at Fashion Island for an hour. Thanks and hope to see you all there!!

For those who want to go to the autoX on Sunday in a group, what would be a good time to be at the autoX?

P.S. If anyone has Motorola Talkabouts or anything along those lines, please bring those!

This Saturday, so far we have 8 people showing up in S2K's, 1 in an NSX.

This Sunday, so far we have 3 or 4 people who would like to go to the autocross as a group to check it out. I'm still waiting to hear from the driver of the King Motorsports S2K as to when the 7 or 8 S2K's will be making laps. (The schedule on the website isn't very specific). It's possible that the best time to go to the autocross would be Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning (most likely the latter), so once we meet on Saturday there may be some more tweaking of our schedule to do.

Furthermore, Reverend has recently posted a call for going on a run on Ortega Highway (74) (with a starting point in Riverside) which ends its twisted path less than 10 minutes from the autocross at El Toro MCAS. Here is Reverend's thread:

Reverend, any way we can merge our itineraries together? Anyone have suggestions?

It's going to be fun!

The Ortega run sounds fun, I'd like to go. Maybe we can end
with the Autocross after the Ortega run. I don't know how
much you guys want to watch the autox but either way, I'm
flexible this weekend.

Ortega run meets at 11:30 in Riverside at In-N-Out Burger. We will probably leave In-N-Out at 12:30-1:00 ish. The drive will probably take 1.5-2.0 hours from Riverside to Laguna. Once again, you are all more than welcome to show up if you can make it.

Now that I'm looking at the autoX schedule (estimation given to me courtesy of the driver of the King Motorsports S2K), it looks like we could do our Saturday thing, drive for two and a half hours, and then hit the AutoX (for those that want to go) in the afternoon when the 2nd heats of A stock and ASP are running.

This would mean that on Sunday, a group of us can meet up again and drive to rendezvous with The Reverend's Ortega Hwy group out at In-And-Out in Riverside. The only alternative is to squeeze at most an *hour* of the AutoX in on Sunday before those who want to go on the Ortega run head over to Riverside. (The reason for this is because A-stock and ASP run their laps from 10am-1pm on Sunday). I'll be the first to say that approach feels rather rushed (unless you're not going to the Ortega Run, and I think most of us wanna do that, or am I wrong?).

Bottom line, it's kinda up to all those who are participating this weekend!!

Tentative Schedule:
(Please feel free to point out any improvements we can make!)

Saturday:
10:00am - 11:30am, meet at Fashion Island (parking lot of Big Newport Theatre)
11:30am - 2:00pm, drive on PCH or wherever you guys wanna go!!
2:00pm - 5:00pm, go to the AutoX at El Toro MCAS (in Irvine), to watch the 2nd heats of A-Stock and A-Street-Prepared which have all the S2K's running laps.

Sunday:
10:00am - 9:30am, meet at Fashion Island again (better ideas?)
10:30am - 11:30am, drive to In-and-Out at Riverside
11:30am - 12:30/1pm, eat lunch
12:30/1pm - drive to Laguna, Ortega Hwy, etc. -- this part is up to the Reverend.
