SoCal restaurant tours?
I love to eat (you can tell by my waist and tummy 
), and I like nothing more than meeting fellow S2K guys and their families for a weekend meal at restaurants with good food. I'm curious to see if you guys in the SoCal area would like to do something on a monthly basis to this effect? I mean, we can all vote on one restaurant once a month and meet there on a weekend, perhaps with a quick drive before the meet. I know quite a few authentic Chinese restaurants we can eat at. As an amateur food critic, my goal is to entertain fellow S2K members and perhaps pass on some rarely known facts about different Chinese food. I'm not very knowledgeable outside of Asian food circle, so I would like to rely on other members to suggest places for American, Italian, South American, French, and a whole host of other cuisines I've yet to experience. My wife said Bandaras on Wilshire was very good American cuisine? I know I really enjoy Ragin' Cajun for Cajun food. There are so many restaurants in the SoCal area we can explore, and it doesn't even have to be expensive! Everyone is welcomed to join us, I love meeting old friends and new members.

I'd be open to this, especially if it were tied in with a drive too - perhaps Sunday morning drive followed by lunch? Drive must precede lunch or else I get too sleepy. Once a month is good. I have a 2002 Zagat restaurant guide - lots of potential eateries. May I recommend Tito's Tacos and Cafe Brazil? (both in Culver City vicinity)

hmm, i'm more into the meeting portion (and the food ) the goal is to get those who don't have the background in a different culture to taste something that's "normal" in their culture, that's why i termed it restaurant tours.
zagat surveys are good, but quite honestly they sometimes miss the cultural aspect of a good restaurant (which may not be well furnished, etc.).
food (and if you prefer, a drive beforehand) is the main theme

Well let's do this. Let's make it the first Sunday of every month and Mingster can choose the restaurant. We can meet at Vets park in Culver City, decide where we are going to eat, go for a drive and then have lunch.
