Default Chicago SUBURBAN Get-Together...(suggestions, please!)

Up to this point, just about all our times out have been in the city at the Home of the Babes, The Player's Club. Well, I think there are many more S2000 owners in the burbs as everytime I take the S2000 out in the city (where I live), people look at me like I am driving a UFO. I understand they are far more common in the burbs...which leads me to this post.

I'm thinking that we should have a meet in the burbs, perhaps Schaumburg or (insert your suggestion here) and turn out will be even greater than the usual suspects who show up at the Player's Club.

So, let's have some ideas on what/where/when...we already know the why and how! I'm kind of suburb-impaired, so I'm just throwing the idea out there...

Here's one idea...I have done car things out in Schaumburg and ended up at Gameworks for the Ferrari 355 Challenge...fun game and the food is decent. Just a thought there...

Ideas? Thoughts? Suggestions?

It would be great to have something figured out in the next two weeks and then we all meet up someplace out in the sticks, er, I mean suburbs.

How about the Alumni Club in Schaumburg. It is a large place with a great outside deck area, valet parking for us to line 'em up. decent assortment of draft beer and food if you like. Easy to find and easy to get to.

I was going to suggest a meeting real soon after I got back from the honeymoon....in fact, I wanted to have a pseudo-house warming/S2KCA meeting with a tour around the streets of Algonquin, Barrington, West Dundee, etc.

Also, I am waiting on hearing from Peter about the day at the shop with Scot from King. We are supposed to make a day of that, maybe we can incorporate that day with a drive to Algonquin followed by a barbecue at my house?

I got a million ideas, and am open to any others.

Hey, if you're doing the suburbs thing, why not head my way - East Chicago or Gary would be a blast!

But seriously, I'm sure old man Harry () will appreciate something in the 'burbs.

How about Walter Payton's Round House in Aurora? Perhaps we can rent out the bar area, or the gazebo (well, if it's summer we could). And if people get bored or low on cash, they can just cross the street and gamble at the casino...

And they have this really nice, big parking lot out front. I am sure we could get them to cordon off an area and line up all our cars.

Urmil

The date of the Mugen Tech day was set - April 27.

I'm up for a meet in the burbs - let me know when and where.

Of course, but leave your car at home!

No, I don't see why other sports shouldn't be allowed...?!? The more the merrier I say...

Good ideas so far, keep them coming...(even you lurking Boxster guys!)

Actually, this may be an idea for later in the summer (when it is warm, and not snowing like today. Friggin' weather!), but isn't there a drive-in movie theatre somwhere in or around Montgomery? Picture a dozen cars lined up in front of the concession stand...
