Default Seat Leather Replacement vs Seat Covers?

I need to replace/cover the seats in my '06 Suzuka. I've seen a lot of posts using Classio seat covers, has anyone installed new replacement leather from LeatherSeats.com? I'm guessing that matching the Suzuka Blue will be difficult.

No I have not, however I would replace them with the aforementioned company if I needed to replace them. You might see if they can provide a swatch and or if they would be able to match the Suzuka Blue somehow.

Happy trails!

I believe that LeatherSeats will match, or attempt to, if you can send a swatch.

I have been thinking about this exact thing. I want to remove my original seat covers and replace them outright ('06 Suzuka blue as well). I was navigating their site and it appears they do our '06, but will the blue match? They have 3 different blues. But overall, looks like they can do them for under $900- that seems pretty reasonable. I'm gonna get the popcorn and what people recommend or wait for photos of what others have done.

It will be almost impossible to color match the leather, especially the blue. Even if they had the exact color, it won't look the same when doing a stare and compare due to aging/fading of the OEM covers. I replaced the seat leather (red/black) in my recently acquired s2k, and none of the swatches matched perfectly, so I just had to go with the one that was closest. If you are really obsessed with color matching, you can also get replacement door panels in whatever swatch you choose, I am fairly certain leatherseats.com offers them, as well as roadwire (the company I used). Overall I am happy with the outcome of the color but have had other non color related issues with them.

I'm not too concerned about getting an exact match. The '06 interior isn't entirely blue, only the seats and carpet, the rest is black. The aged seats don't match the aged carpet anyway. Thanks for the replies.

Are your seats bad enough that they can't be worked on with leather filler and dye? When I did mine I just took off the door card and cut off a section of leather from the inside of the door card so I could get the dye allowing the seats to match.
I did have Clazzio covers on the car but I didn't like losing the helmet hole on my AP1 and the red was way too bright. Clazzios are more comfortable than stock seats but you won't find Suzuka.

If you have a local upholstery shop, go there and ask to see their color swatches, then you can literally just compare and pick the one you want easily, some of the after market blue colors do look quite nice. If there isn't one nearby, roadwire/leatherseats.com will send you samples if you call them.

I will advise though, I have a HORRIBLE problem with my replacement seat covers because the manufacturer used cheap vinyl on the seat backs (this is common for almost all leather seat cover vendors). Because of the seat belt design of these cars, it causes the seat belts to rub against the vinyl, making a horrible squeaking noise, much worse than the squeaking some already experience with the oem covers. This is why, if possible, I highly recommend you opt for the full leather option and skip the vinyl all together.

Hope that helps and that you get what you want!

I am replacing stock seat covers with Katzkin Tuscany all leather covers. Ink body with perforated midnight insert. Also having shift boot and center console cover done in midnight as well. Local automotive upholstery specialist doing the work first week of November. Got on the schedule beginning of August. They are very busy, which makes sense. They did the front seats on my 2013 ZDX and the workmanship was completely spectacular.

I met with the design specialist and co-owner in August. She has the complete catalog of Katzkin colors and leather types. We spent two hours going over the possible combinations that would work with an Indy yellow AP1.
We agreed on the Ink/midnight combination and we both think it is going to be beautiful. She has a great eye for this and am so excited to see and feel the seats when done.

I have wanted to do this since I acquired the car. Current covers are in great shape for being 19 years old, but over time they have become less pliable/supple so I have been saving for this upgrade and now can't wait for November.

Sounds like you are in good hands. It's a nice feeling when you are dealing with someone who totally knows that they are doing and take the time to make sure you are happy.
