Default Scratched my steering wheel :(

So I had my pocket knife clipped to my right pocket and it scraped against the bottom of the steering wheel. Could anyone recommend a good repair kit or should I take it to a professional (assuming it can be repaired), otherwise I'll buy another steering wheel ($$$)

Lets see a pic of the damage. Leatherique has some of the best repair products on the market, check out their website. I've done some wheel repairs just using black shoe polish, it worked okay. It remained dry and in good shape until I tried to clean the wheel, then the polish came off, but it was easy to re-apply.

I have a 9.5/10 wheel. Car had 12,000 on it when I swapped it out.

Steering wheels are cheep. It's the air bag that cost a lost of money. Mint condition ap2 steering wheels with out the air bad sell for less than $100 shipped all day long on ebay and at junk yards.

What is the term for that type of damage called? Fishscaling? Cause my steering wheel has the same issue from rivets in an old pair of jeans.

You can touch it up with water based acrylic paint from a craft store. Buy a bottle of black and wipe it on with your finger, let it dry for a couple of minutes, then wipe it with a damp microfiber until the only paint left is in the scratched area.

This method also works on seats.
