Had to buy new ones. Now I have AP2V2 hoops with faux speaker inserts installed. Looks infinitely better with the top down, but it wasn't cheap.
Could you post a pic or two of your faux speaker inserts? I take it you just left off all the plastic and now you have the bare metal hoops.

Default Roll Hoop Cover Solution

I had the split roller hoop cover on the passenger side and used a product called Goop that someone on the forums recommended. It worked! It has a little elasticity to it when it cures that allows the hoop to expand a little in the sun without cracking the seals happened on other epoxies that I tried before. It's 9 bucks at Amazon.

Interesting, there's a 'GOOP II" that's supposedly stronger and an automotive GOOP for car based applications ... wonder if those might work too.

Just use some JBWeld...and use duct tape to hold it while the JB weld dry...once dried, it'll be on there forever...

Please don't drill or glue your splitted roll hoops!!
You need to fix this and weld it as they did at the factory. Please follow my tutorial on Youtube and you will fix this problem for good.
Really easy to do, or show it to your mechanic so he can do it for you.
Mines are done for almost a year now, and they're still solid welded together OEM look (no holes, drills, messes with glue).
Happy to help you solve this usual problem on s2k
