Recaro RCS Seat

Recaro RCS Seat
Recaro seems to have released a new bucket-type seat, but doesn't seem like to be getting much fanfare in the s2ki forums. Wondering if anyone has had a chance to try these out and provide some first impressions

Anyone on here have first hand experience with this seat yet?
Here is the Autobacs Recaro album for the Recaro RCS installed in S2Ks...

They appear to fit very well and Recaro mentions creating them ideally for cars like the Miata and S660. However, it is a model developed specifically for Recaro Japan which I believe means our stateside distributors don't have access to this seat. It also usually means it'll be a tight fit for a stateside derriere lol.
Dimensions:
Depth: 460mm
Seat Cushion Width : 450mm
Width:470mm
Height:900mm
Weight: 9.8 Kg
Using my favorite Japanese online parts brokers (Nengun, Blackhawk, RHDJapan) it is available for ordering and priced relatively similarly between retailers at $1200-$1400 per seat. The painful part for us is the shipping ranging from $750-$1000 per seat.
So a pair of these seats should run about $2400 but shipping them (in my case to Florida) is another $1600, putting the total cost at $4000. That might be a hard pill to swallow without sitting in one or hearing some great reviews (which I can't really find any reviews at all). Not to mention, there are tons of good seats at a less expensive price point available to us in the US. But they look super unique and the exclusivity of having them here might be worth a few extra pennies to some.
Any savvy ideas for getting them here without the crazy shipping costs? Surely somebody must have one on here! <fingers crossed>
