So we all know the metal rear view mirror mount is unique to the S2k (NSX mount is very similar). Most of the posts on here I've seen people are just replacing the windshield mount with a generic one. Has anyone modified the Zoom mirror mount to make an adapter from that?

Looking at this it looks like the Zoom mount would be a good candidate Frankenstein something together while keeping the stock pieces intact. Maybe shave the front down and somehow insert a generic button adapter on top? Cutting the top mount arm off would probably need to happen as well unless Gentex or someone else makes a threaded mount auto dimming mirror.

Without cutting the arm, a thread to ball adapter could work potentially, something like this? Then make it fit into the ball socket of the new mirror somehow. Trying to retrofit something into a RAM mirror mate ball base might be an option as well. I'd love to get a better rear view mirror but don't want to mess with the windshield button myself.
