I purchased this cup holder new about 3 years ago and it's great . It uses the car's hardware, is placed in the perfect position with a custom bracelet and opens and closes just fine . It even has this gear like thing that opens up the ring that holds the cup just fine . Zoom in on it to see how it works. It's kind of expensive but worth every cent.
