Need help with Seat Upgrade
I am sure there are some of you that know this inside out.
I took off my OEM seats to take them to be redone, I was going to do this anyways because they were in bad shape and when I sell the car (when I have to), it will be sold as completely stock. If I want to replace the OEM with the aftermarket set I have in storage (Sparco R100 in black), how do I rid myself of the airbag light, which came on as soon as I took out the OEM seats? Where do the OEM connectors go if the OEM seats are taken out? There are four connectors ounder the passenger side and one under the driver's seat.
Thank you.

Another question, the passenger seat belt was bolted to the passenger seat, where is the seat belt attached if the seat is replaced? The driver seat is attached to the floor and I am not sure why it is simply not the same for the passenger side.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Lots of folks use the search function -- that's how 18 year threads get replies. I don't use the forum search function. I use Google. search term:www.s2ki.com (What you're searching for) - (colon) - (www.s3ki.com) (or another site) (no spaces) Works for me here and elsewhere. Still turns up old stuff though.

I think it may be because there could be liability involved. Someone posting how to defeat airbag sensors (if there even is one) is a "user assumes all responsibility" kinda thing for doing it.

From what I do recall swapping seats in an 06+ car, it's best to have a spare OEM seat bracket to hack up and reweld to the new seat, as you need the senors from the OEM seat. Most skipped out on this as it was/is difficult, so those that did swap seats in the newer cars rode with the lights on, or some other 'hack' to make it work. It is not something you're going to find a straight answer or DIY on, as Vadster above has already pointed out.

Thank you. The problem here is that should one succeed in finding a knackered seat out there, how would one 1) guarantee it still has the sensor, and 2) how does one extract the sensor form the rail/seat and hook it up to avoid the warning lights when a new aftermarket sat is installed?
