Default Need help looking for comfortable seats

Hi fellow S2k ! i just recently bought a 2002 s2000. Car is amazing but one problem, the seats are very uncomfortable. My back was injured in a car accident and these S2000 seats really bother my lower back if I drive longer than 30 minutes. It cause unbearable pain. It's bad to the point where I want to sell the car and I just got it. I drove the car for 3 hours and my lower back was sore the next day. I believe the "bucket style" seat may contribute to the pain as well.

Does anyone know where I can find decent pricing comfortable seats that will fit the S2000 or have any idea that will help make the stock seat more bearable?

As a very last resort, I may just have to sell the car

Thank you

Are you comfortable driving other cars with bucket seats, in particular those with a manual transmission? Working a clutch can really aggravate some kinds of back injury. Ask me how I know!

now that you mentioned it, we did have a 350z which was an automatic and I dont remember it giving me back problem. My knee gets sore from clutching but I figure I'll get used to it eventually or at least I hope.

Now I just gotta ask, how do you know working a clutch can aggravate back injury?

Depends on the back injury. If you experience sciatic nerve problems, extending the leg can hurt. I had an old back injury that took years to heal. Bucket seats still bother me sometimes too - especially the sciatic nerve running under my keester on the clutch side. With an automatic I am more free to position my leg where needed. Luckily the problem has faded as I get older. You might try moving the seat a bit closer to the pedal. For me, yoga has been the biggest help.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try moving my seat closer and maybe a pillow behind my back for the next few days to see how that goes. Hopefully it'll help. I would really hate end up selling the car because of this. It took me a while to find one that's in excellent condition with extremely low miles.

That would be sad! Tell me a bit about your S2K!

Thought you never ask.
It's a bone stock 2002 Sebring silver with 34K miles. Car is in near mint condition exception for a few hairline crack around the front license plate area and really small dent by the gas tank thats prob from a shopping cart. Interior and top are in excellent condition. It still has the " new leather " smell. It's accident free as well. An older lady used to own it and sold it bc her husband passed away and it was his car.

I was planning on modding it before I can't justify ruining a car in this condition since it's hard to find one with such low miles now a days.

:Sigh: I barely drove it .With the way I'm feeling right now, I wouldn't mind selling the car for what I paid and get an automatic again .

I understand your predicament. Driving with pain is no fun at all. Good luck and quick healing! You'll certainly have no trouble selling your S2K for top dollar.

My 06 is also a super minty garage queen with 23K. I too just can't see modding.

man these seats can be tough, they don't elevate the knees and your legs are out straight, not much adjustment on the rake and no lumbar support. I'd recommend looking at some Bride seats, they look pretty nice, supportive material. I put some Clazio seat covers on my seats and they are much more comfortable but I think the design of the oem seat being very low and with little adjustment might be what is causing you issues.

Jfusion,
I haven't been on here lately because I been pretty busy. I thought about getting Bride seats but they're going to cost ~ $2K. I would rather sell the car because I don't have money to put into the car anymore.
