Mugen Rep Hardtop Wind Noise reduction
Hello fellow s2k enthusiasts,
I've had my s2k for a few years now and haven't got around to fixing this issue. My problem is that wind noise comes in from above the windshield and towards the front of the hardtop. I am unsure whether the rubber weatherstrip needs to be replaced or if i can McGiver it with some added weather stripping material. Has anyone else had this issue?
The wind noise doesn't become a problem until I'm on the freeway going 65+ mph with the windows rolled up. I might as well have the windows rolled down cuz its the same sound-wise. I have to turn up my radio to almost max volume just to understand what I'm listening to. However, if it rains, water doesn't come through, only wind noise.
I upgraded my hardtop mounts because my OEM ones would rattle, but the fitment doesn't seem to be an issue. there just seems to be a gap big enough to let wind become deafening.
If anyone else has had this issue, please give me some insight on what you've done to relieve the unbearable wind noise.
I can add pictures later, or i can take a video next time on on the freeway and post a link to it.
