Anyone do a custom install for illuminated door sills like the R8 or prius?

 

assuming you have the ability to get the piece cut out It would actually be pretty easy to do. Getting the part machined like that would be the hardest part.

We did some illuminated door sills as part of a full interior for a sponsor on here. We're still waiting on completed pics though.

I really like that. that would look nice on any luxury car. On a full luxury sedan that would look even better.

 

The new Mustang GT's light up too. It would be cool.

 

You should be able to cut out the part you want to light up, put this behind it, and finally wire the inverter to the interior lights that come on when you open the door (most cars its the foot well lights but I doubt the S2000 has those).

I know some ppl on another car forum did it that way but they had issues with the EL panels getting damaged when they closed the doors, but the S doors are smaller/lighter so it might not be a problem.

 

This from a recent post in the Puerto Rico forum, no idea how he did it.
