Cleaning and protection of roof interior
I suppose this should go into the "Appearance" forum, but I've searched the topic there and found very little information, and nothing less than six years old.
I rarely get to use my top cover when I have my roof down, so the interior fabric is collecting a lot of dust and dirt and probably getting a lot of UV ray damage. I'm interested to learn how the interior of the roof can be properly cleaned (vacuuming? wiping with damp cloth? scrubbing with chemical cleaner?) and whether there is any protectant spray that could be applied to give it greater resistance to the effects of sun and dirt.
Suggestions?

On the interior I use the same stuff I use to clean vinyl. I use a Pinnacle product but most quality vinyl products will probably work to get the dirt out. If the inside has faded due to not using the boot when top's down then you're probably out of luck unless you buy some black vinyl dye.
And I also use the 303 for the UV protection

I just clean that up with soft top cleaner from local auto parts store. Idk it look cleaned it up. I wipe it with wet soft towel first and let it dry and clean it with cleaner (just like same how I clean outside top). I'm not a pro lol. You may look wash&wax section, there are a many pro guys are there.

I would:
- vacuum with a brush attachment.
- wipe with a damp cloth.
- protect with either 303 vinyl protectant or RaggTopP vinyl protectant.
My suggestion is to use a product specifically formulated for vinyl and UV protection. Although some of the items suggested above may 'appear' to work, the UV protection in an engineered product is what your looking for.
RaggTopp can be sourced from the Wash and Wax forum sponsor www.DetailersDomain.com
303 Vinyl you should be able to get at a boat store, or potentially a motorcycle shop.

Thanks for all that helpful info, folks.
I'm a bit unsure about the references to vinyl cleaner and protectant, however. Isn't the inside of the roof (roof liner) a type of cloth? It certainly feels like that when I'm sitting inside with the top up and reach up to run a hand over the interior surface. I wouldn't think a vinyl protectant or spray would go well with that type of cloth material.
