Default Adhesive Residue - Dashboard

Need to remove adhesive residue from the dashboard, not sure what was there probably some sort of compass or other tacky device. I was going to try Goo Gone but didn't know if that was safe for the dash. Any suggestions on how to safely remove something like this?

Rubbing alcohol usually works fairly well and is likely already on hand.

I'd say regular goo gone since it's not chemical solvent based. Maybe set your car out in the sun so the dash gets nice and hot/warm and just get busy with citrus based goo gone and some elbow grease.

It's not the same chemical solvent as say "3M Adhesive remover" or similar. MSDS sheet. Cute.

It's petroleum distillate based. I don't see how it isn't a chemical solvent. I doubt that dichloromethane, benzene, toluene, etc are the same as say "3M Adhesive remover", but they're still solvents. Water is a chemical solvent too.
