Default Are 2001 civic/Acura 2dr carpets compatible with the s2000?

Edit: carpets not floor mats

So I recently ruined my bottom floor carpets leaving them out in the rain with the top up.

Lowest OEM floor carpets are $400+ for s2000. However on ebay, sellers list the 2001 2 dr coupe civic/Acura floor mats as compatible with the honda AP1 s2000.

These are substantially cheaper($128-160!) and look like a near match albeit with some minor changes with much better availability.

I'm willing to give it a shot, any experiences?

$600? These are $260.

Are you looking for floor mats or carpet? Big difference. Floor pans of the cars you mention are different shape but carpet can be made to fit.

Seemed like a lot of money for mats. But some guy here thinks a set of OEM seat fabric is worth $6,000 -- US, not CDA -- so ya never know.

Massive roof leak or typo?

It was a typo. I meant the floor carpeting. I left my car in a lot to avoid drunk driving, huge rainfall overnight left it soaked. Driving back home worked fine but the immobilizer transponder ring died. Everything else checks out thankfully.

It's a 2001 API so that floor was already ratty as hell.

They would be a totally different fitment. I've learned that installing carpets that are not 100% designed for your car are a major pain the rear to fit trying to align them with every little hole in the body, I never want to attempt that again , ever.

I just ended DIY refurbishing mine. Used are $300-400 on ebay and OEM $700-ish. Couldn't find anything on the market for direct replacement. I suppose one could buy a weather tech and replace the bottom with liner/sound deadening as a cheaper alternative if the carpet is wrecked beyond belief(huge amounts of visible mold everywhere, cut up like crazy).

DO NOT do this if your carpet is fine or unless you want sound deadening. You can just steam clean the carpet with a wand if you want to refresh perfectly fine carpet like the pros do.

It's a pain in the ass(tons of glue, hard to reach rivets/screws). Granted my seat bolt holes came stupidly positioned from the factor so putting back in the seat is always a pain in the ass for me. Get a trim removal tool, High temp carpet adhesive spray(don't cheap out here), metric deep socket kit, socket extension, GLOVES, goo be gone glue remover spray, real vacuum with hose attachment(none of those low power car vacs), and do all carpet/seat belts, trim before putting back in the seat.

Wish I just did an insurance claim(wanted to avoid water damage on car record) but on the other hand, it was great time to put in some sound deadening(dynamat). It really does greatly enhance sound clarity and quiet the interior....insanely underrated mod. Should be a requirement if your doing this. Noico sells them as low as $60-ish and unknown ebay brands as low as $30. 36 sq feet will cover all you need with stuff to spare unless you want to do the entire trunk instead of just the trunk lid). More like 40-45 sq feet then.

Best bet would be to pull it out and steam clean it using a steam cleaning with a wand on both sides(after removing the jute liner). Baking soda and vinegar also work but that stuff is messy and dries out everything else around it while being smelly....my pro steam cleaner(jiffy) broke right before the start so I did the latter(messy but it works). Bonus: you can use baking soda/vinegar/hydrogen peroxide IN the steam cleaner which is best of both worlds in terms of mess. Remove the jute backing and replace with liner (different from the normal deadening stuff but also cheaper; goes over the sound deadening panels) from any sound deadening brand(dynamat,Noico). That jute carpet lineer stuff underneath oem has likely soaked up 1-2 decades of moisture/mold/bad stuff...replace (liner or new jute) or remove, do not skip this step since jute or liner is dirt cheap; when people say they can't get puke smell out, it's because the jute backing is likely holding it. If you think you have mildew, mold, puke residue or nasty stuff down there, etc then you might want leave out in the sun for at least a few hours on both sides AFTER removing the jute and cleaning but BEFORE replacing the jute backing with linter. Same strategy for mats except there is no jute/liner backing to worry about.

Other than slight carpet fit issues(i was in a hurry and lazy....bad idea, will adjust later) on the transmission tunnel it came out perfect. The carpet can be refurbished just fine yourself. Just make sure you buy replace door interior rivets(white for doors and trim, black screws type rivets for carpet) or keep the ones you pull out....don't break them like I did. FYI: a few are actual screws for carpet trim! You'll need the deep socket metric for the driver side foot pedal.

If you have friends, do this in good lighting, BUY THE RIGHT PARTS I suggested, are slow, follow the guides on sound deadening the s2000.....this is perfectly doable and not as hard.

FYI, the OEM Carpet was never amazing in this car so don't expect miracles in appearance but it will 100% fresh smelling and look clean like new. You will likely spend a lot longer doing this than expected since this is the perfect chance to upgrade the sound system, sound deadening, re-dying/repair the leather seats, put in seat warmers, etc.

If your car got soaked in enough rain to have to re-do the carpet, there is a chance the the security key immobilizer might short out due to moisture preventing you from being able to start(you'll see the green key flashing). It's easy as hell to replace and $30 used....get the acura, generic honda ones off ebay not an OEM or s2000 original since part is same across models. Mine went out a day after,
