I hope whoever is responsible is caught and made to pay for the damages. Bury them for life.

I believe it was either:

1) Someone who realized he/she couldn't afford an Audi and decided to key every car in the lot in order to ensure nobody else would want to buy an Audi from around that area

or

2) Someone who wanted to buy an Audi, didn't get treated they way he/she expected to be treated from a luxury German automotive dealership, and in a fit of rage, said person decided to key every car in the lot in order to ensure nobody else would want to buy an Audi from around that area.

I feel bad for the cars, but not for the dealer. The dealer probably pissed the guy off somehow. Bad customer service? I don't know. But the cars definitely didn't deserve this.

This happened when I was selling cars back in '05 in Santa Monica, CA... I came in to open and was pushing the gate back, when I thought I saw something like a string across the hood of a brand new black SC430 (it was a Lex dealer)... upon closer inspection someone had keyed it, DEEP.

...and then I realized it was on the other SC430 next to it.

...and the LS430 further down.

...and the LX470 next to that.

It turned out that some kids had walked all the way down Santa Monica Boulevard from Lincoln, starting at the Toyota dealer and walked aaaaall the way down the strip, keying the hoods of *every car* on the front of the line at all the dealers. Audi, VW, Saab, BMW, MBZ, Lexus, Toyota, Volvo, Mazda, Chevy, Ford... the cops got them at the Honda dealer, they'd done a couple on that lot and brought them in; didn't realize that they'd done almost a MILE's worth of damage!

Both the kids had rich parents and they were just out raging against the machine...

Insurance had a field day with that one.
