personally, i'm not too fond of that car. i agree with darnold...looks like a dune buggy! the shade of yellow is pretty nasty (IMO) too....too much orange in it. doesn't jump out at you like the spa does.

Over here Elises are pretty common.
Most of them are around 5.7 sec 0-60. S is rated in same reviews at 5.5 sec.
Elise will beat an S to 30mph because of its light weight, then the S catches up and its goodbye Elise.
VERY VERY spartan inside - pretty noisy and relatively uncomfortable. Dreadful clip-on canvas roof on earlier models.
Slightly better handling. Great as a second car for weekends, though. No real storage.

Similar price. In my book the S wins every time. That's why I bought one. 3 of my friends have Elises though because you don't have to wait so long for one.

The Sun International Elise is powered by a Spoon sourced ITR engine. develops well over 200HP and makes this little guy flies like a rocket. My good buddy has one (actually the first customer car from Sun Int.) and I can attest that the little bugger smokes. Can zip the quarter mile on par with a Viper and goes 0-60 close to 4 flat. Needless to say put it on a track and it's hard to compete with, even when you're cruising in a 996 911TT.

How much horsepower does the stock elise have? How many horses does the B18C5 push out?

I like the looks of the cars, and the colors are great. But you need to learn a thing or two about picture composition. Next time, park the cars (or take the picture from a different angle) so that there is not a pole growing out from the top of it. Both of your pictures show a pole on either the S2000 or the Elise

Hey..they look like little Tyco RCs!

Not a problem...the pole didn't throw me off any. I don't think that author was expecting any National Geographic marvel when the shots were taken.

The elise with the type-r motor walks all over a stock S2000....and lets not even talk about braking and handling

You're absolutely right. But it's not nearly as versatile as our S2000. You can imagine how unpractical it is given the s2000 is borderline a daily driver (mine is but many owners use it sparingly).
