Wing is a "prototype" and is the product of a collaboration between The Winning Formula Inc and GOODAero LLC to develop an efficient, well-integrated, and securely mounted rear downforce solution for the S2000. The intial prototype was built to the limits of the NASA TT/PT rules with provisions that allowed us to cut the width of the wing down trackside until we found a desirable balance between net downforce and tunability. We have a revised version of the wing slated for completion this week. We will be performing some more testing with a hardtop and splitter in place before making a determination on future alterations. For now, here is one more photo of the prototype...

Wing looks great. I can't tell from the pic, is it trunk mounted or chassis mounted?

It is mounted to a factory "CR" decklid. The "CR" decklid comes with a factory installed reinforcement panel at the wing attachment point. Our plan was to try the "CR" decklid as our initial mounting solution and only go directly to the unibody if we felt the decklid was incapable of adequately supporting the wing at such a substantial height (7" above the windshield frame). We were really pleased, and pleasantly surprised, when we mocked up our intial prototype risers to the "CR" decklid and found the combination to be extremely sturdy. The wing/risers bolt directly up to a "CR" decklid with no modification.

I've been really disappointed with how "flimsy" the mounting solutions are with some of the commercially available wings for our cars - you can grab those wings and move them an inch or more laterally with little effort. Personally, I don't see the point in mounting a wing in cleaner air if it is only going to shake around and break under the increased forces. With the attachement points on these mass produced wings being glued and riveted to the skin of the airfoil, and their flimsy mounts allowing substantial lateral movement, it comes as no surprise to me that these wings are susceptible to damage and failure when mounted high off the decklid. Obviously, we wanted to avoid this with our wing! Our attachments points are anchored to an internal aluminum reinforcement rib inside the wing and our riser/decklid combination permits almost no lateral movement even when subject to heavy forces. We're very pleased with the results thus far...

Thanks for the positive comments about the wing. We'll be keeping our "prototype" wing and decklid combination on our trailer to lend to those who want to try a wing on their S2000 at the track. Hunt me down and borrow it for a couple sessions if you ever see a white S2000 rolling around with this obnoxious piece of work hanging off the back of it!

I'll try to post some more photos and information once we have the revised wing and risers on the car - sometime in the next week.

Now the question is how much does a new from Honda CR trunk go for and how much is the wing?

Haha, too damn much - like everything else in motorsports!

Trunk is about $400. As it sits, we could replicate the wing for about $1850-2150 depending on certain options.
