Did everybody stay under 4500 RPM for the first 600 miles? I know it's killing me!

I now have 500km/310miles.....Ive been everywhere in the Non-Vtec range....Shifting at 3000, 4000, 5000, and 6000rpms....It is much better to vary the rpms during the first 1000 or so miles so dont have a set rpm....

P.S. I did take her up to 7500rpm once already......I couldnt help it

No biggie..

Peace

I'm not sure how much it matters because chances are either the dealer or whoever test drove the car before you didn't! Hell, you probably didn't when you test drove the car either.

I kept it under 5000rpm for the first 750miles and then I let all hell break lose. I had had a VTEC B series engined ride before the S so there was no rush. The longer you wait the happier you'll be in the long run.
Wait a minute... isn't this the picture forum?

Top this--the first 2500 miles my car never hit 0001 rpm (Car was shipped from MA to CA inside a dark truck)

When I got it:
0-600 miles: Never over 5500 RPM
600-1000: Never over 7500 RPM
Now: Vtec whenever it's needed.

(Keep in mind I did 1000 miles in the first 3 days.)

I couldn't do it. I VTEC'd in the dealership parking lot as I drove away after delivery.

My car seems fine even though I didn't do any break in period. I've got over 12,000 on her now. I guess the engine could just fall out one day. Oh well, I'll just go get a new one.

Come on man, you're only human! I couldn't resist a couple of forays to VTEC.
