Default Testing Camera Mount

I had some spare time on my hands on Sun, so I dedcided to get all McGyver'ish.
I mated a suction cup mount for a GPS and my tripod end to come up with my suction cup mount.
I didn't want to test it with my video camera incase it went flying off the car... so i used a super cheepy p&s. Abywho, I'm really happy with the end product and it holds hard

Now I can get rid of my windscreen replacement mount and put my windscreen back in

Here are 2 vids I took. (Sorry for all the wind noise, its a crappy cam and I forgot to put some tape over the mic )

I'm going to take some detailed pics of the rig and how I fab'd it and post them in the am.

I hope that for the next autox I should have some nice vids to post.

Well if it holds up quite sturdy for autox, the shots from the rear quarter panel will turn out looking sick.

Here are the pics of the rig/mount.

The Mount is from my Magellen GPS unit. I had already sold the GPS and the pins snapped off the bracket that holds the unit onto the mount. The rig is from my Ambico V0552 Tripod, the locking plate broke so the rig no longer locks onto the tripod. Here I had two separate units that were broken and could no longer be used for their origional purpose. So I decided to mate them together.

1] I used plastic a/b contact cement (can get it at any hardware store, used for pluming) to glue the rig to the GSP bracket.

2] I took my Dremel and notched the bottom of the bracket so that I have access to the locking screw.

3] The cement dried with a grayish finish, so I took a black permanent marker and colored those areas.

4] Today after work I'm going to pass by the hardware store and try to find a small bubble level that I can glue to the front of the swiveling head so that I can level the mount for a good horizon.

Thanks for the insite

Before I take it on the track I'm going to have to test it with some plumb weights taped to it. If it doesn't hold on, I'll just have to use it inside, stuck to the glass. I know it sticks good to glass, cause I used it with my GSP on trips and did some cornering with it in and it stuck to the glass hard.
