Nothing beats the speed/power/fun of teh turbo car. I had a 300whp/300wtq mr2 turbo. and sold it because the maintenance/reliability. It was fast as a bullet though.... when it ran....

Supercharged s2k now.

my mr2t was 200whp/200wtq...it was fun as hell!!

nice video! the turbo really pulled...but yea the SC had an extra passenger and top down.

as for the turbo > SC debate...wondering why Sideways decided to just build off of his SC instead of opting for a TC for much bigger power....

maybe he'll chime in

Turbos are great. They also make a system more complex, to an extent.

After 1st gear, each subsequent gear change will leave you at, what....6500 or above?

So area under the curve is important, but power from 6500-9krpm (AP1 at least) is paramount for these "races" that this thread is concerning itself with.

Its an age old debate. But the debate for me is also between 3200 dollars (tuner Vortech kit) and what, 10,000 for a good Turbo installation? To each his own. I think it would be interesting to hear Sideways talk about his reasons, but its still a personal choice.

In the long run a S/C kit actually becomes more expensive to make power out of than a turbo.
