Haven't gotten a chance to get out and practice with mynew toy, but the pics I've taken inside are incredible!!!!
The camera: Nikon CoolPix 880
Check this camera out before committing to the Kodak 4800 or the Canon's. The Kodak is an excellent camera, but I liked the Nikon better.

Mindcore,
The last camera I had was a S10 before the S100. So resolution was the same (2.1megapixel). Even from that I lost alot of things. Overall ease of use (physical interface), shutter and off/on lag time, less manual settings, 2 resolution modes and of course the constant blurry photos. Even if I took successive photos of the same object one after another, one could be blurry and the other crystal clear. The only thing it did have going for it was it's size.
Too much voodoo for my blood.
Since I use my camera alot while motorcycle riding it was essential that the camera have a couple of vital features. Relatively small and compact, full of features, self closing lens (no lens cap business). This narrows the field down considerably to just a handful of cameras. I choose the Sony P1 and have no regrets.
If I didn't have those limitations, I'd probably get the Canon G1, followed closely by the Nikon 990 then the Olympus 3030.

Get Nikon 990 if you can. Have you seen any camera can do this?
I have a Nikon 850 that I bought this summer. The qualify is superb. There are two thing I don't like about it that it does not support Compact Flash II which feature IBM Micro Drive at 350MB to 1GB, and the battery life is really short. Less than one day of vigorous use.
